Recipe of the Week

 

Chocolate Haystacks

 

2 cups sugar                           ½ cup unsalted butter

½ cup milk                             1/3 cup unsweetened cocoa powder

3 ½ cups Quick Oats               1 cup shredded coconut

½ tsp vanilla                            ¼ salt

 

In a large saucepan, combine sugar, butter, milk and cocoa.  Over high heat, bring to a hard boil.  Remove from heat, stir in oats, coconut, vanilla and salt.  Drop rounded tablespoons onto parchment paper-lined baking sheet.  Let cool completely.  Great snack to let kids help and take to school.
